This is a historically accurate, 1/4"=1' scale, detailed half model of one of the first boats designed for use with the gasoline engine in the early 1900's.
The draketailed style hull was modelled after the navy torpedo boats which the builders saw cruising the Chesapeake Bay. The Deadrise boat was named as the State Boat of Virginia by an act of the Virginia Legislature in 1988.
The model is mounted on a mahogany stained wooden backing board with an engraved brass plaque. The backing board measures 12 inches by 6 inches and the actual model measures 10 inches long.
It is hand packaged inside a white collectors box with color label. An information card with details of the boat is included.
This is a great model for display in the den or family room, and a great way to capture a small slice of our nautical heritage.
