Back in April we got an order for a custom Catalina 22 mainsail and jib from Bob Burnham who lives just west of Tallahassee, FL. Shortly after receiving his new sails, he gave us a call to order a storm jib and to tell us about an upcoming “Catalina 22 Only” cruise called the Northern Gulf Coast Cruise. This is no small gathering. In fact, they had over 20 boats from five different states for this year’s cruise, which was their 13th annual. We think anytime two sailboats are out playing together is pretty cool, let alone a couple dozen of the exact same boat. The NGCC is a 130+ mile cruise along the Florida panhandle coast.
Given the enthusiasm of this group of trailer sailors, we decided we’d try something we’ve never done before. We donated one of our small-boat storm jibs plus a few half-hull models, a varied assortment of new dock lines, tell tales and DVDs from our sister companies SailVision.net and Kelly-Hanson Marine.
A young couple from Tennessee, Josh & Katie Landers (and first-time participants in the Cruise and new sailors), were delighted to win the storm jib for their 22.

WingZ Sailboats has named Kelly-Hanson Sails as it's official sail provider for the exciting new Z-21 trailerable cruising catamaran.
The Z-21 carries a large, full battened fathead mainsail as well as a jib and screacher. Each of the three sails are color coordinated to match the boats hull, trampoline and graphics color.
Although the boat was designed for for novice and family sailors, it does have the ability to really scoot. 20 plus knots in boat speed are possible with the right wind and sail combination.
We will have a few photos up shortly. Check back soon.
